As the end of the year approaches, your calendar may become even more crammed than usual. At work you may be pushing to finish projects for the final quarter. At home, you’re planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas. You probably aren’t giving much thought to your dental insurance benefits. But perhaps you should, given that the clock may be ticking on money you can spend on smile improvements.
Like a gift card with an expiration date, dental insurance benefits don’t carry over from one year to the next. So this is a good time to review what is coming to you. Watch this video from the American Dental Association and pay particular attention to the mention of an “annual maximum.”
That’s the amount your insurance provider will pay for your dental care in a given year. It is often in the range of $1,000 to $2,000. If you haven’t yet spent that much, now is a good time to schedule exams or talk to us about smile improvements. Not all procedures are covered by insurance, but many are.
We’re happy to work with you to ensure you receive the maximum benefit from your insurance for non-emergency services, without exceeding your limit. If you need two crowns for example, you can get one in late 2019 and then come back for the other one in early 2020.
Call today so we can help you review your dental insurance benefits and schedule any needed services.
