I Have Pain or Discomfort
Dental pain and discomfort in your mouth are not normal. They’re how our bodies tell us that something is wrong, something that needs an urgent attention. If you have dental pain or discomfort caused by tooth decay, dental abscess, infection, ill-fitting dental appliances, trauma, injury, disease or poor oral hygiene, see your Jacksonville, TX dentists right away. Dr. Folden and Dr. Westbrook can relieve discomfort and end pain permanently through corrective treatments.
For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 or head to the nearest ER. If pain is caused by a dental emergency, call us immediately at 903-625-9297. Dental emergencies can be a severe toothache, broken dental appliance, jaw injury, or a knocked-out tooth. At All Smiles, we work emergency patients in.
Examination and Evaluation
During the visit, Dr. Folden or Dr. Westbrook will perform a comprehensive examination of the mouth and jaw to determine the source of pain and make an accurate diagnosis. This may include digital X-rays, photos and scans. Your All Smiles dentist will also check your TMJs and perform oral cancer screening. Depending on the results of your tests, the dentist will recommend treatment options and prepare you for the procedure.
Root canal or endodontic treatment is performed when infection has reached the dental pulp in the center of the tooth. Your dentist will remove the pulp, clean and seal off the space, and place a dental crown on top. A root canal is about as uncomfortable as getting fillings, and it’s completely painless. We also offer sedation to help anxious patients relax.
Dentures and other appliances may need to be adjusted or relined to eliminate discomfort. In some cases, old, worn dentures may need to be replaced.
