Experience The Convenience Of Same-Day Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns & Bridges 3 - Jacksonville, TX | All Smiles - Dr. Larry Folden

If you need a dental crown this holiday season, the last thing you want is to have to worry about is an awkward temporary crown while your permanent restoration is made. “Temporaries” can fall out at inconvenient times, like your workplace holiday luncheon or your annual family get-together.

But here’s some good news. At All Smiles, we’ve eliminated the need for a temporary crown by offering same-day dental crowns! That’s right. We can fabricate and place your dental restoration in the same visit, thanks to our state-of-the-art CEREC milling device.

This frees up your schedule to truly enjoy the “most wonderful time of the year” — and with a beautifully restored smile to boot!

Read on for more information about the convenience of same-day dental crowns in our Jacksonville, TX office. Then, give us a call at 903-625-9297 to schedule an appointment!

What Is A Dental Crown?

Let’s start off with some basics. A dental crown is a “cap” that completely covers the visible portion of your tooth to conceal dental imperfections. Dental crowns can be used to:

  • Support or strengthen a weak or broken tooth
  • Cover misshapen or discolored teeth
  • Correct irregularities in a tooth’s size or shape
  • Anchor a dental bridge (a prosthetic that replaces one or more missing teeth in a row)
  • Make cosmetic modifications to a tooth

Your dental crown custom-made to look like a healthy version of your natural tooth, so even though it’s a prosthetic, it blends in seamlessly with the rest of your smile!

What Is The Process Of Getting A CEREC Same-Day Crown?

When you come to All Smiles for a dental crown, Dr. Folden or Dr. Westbrook will assess the health of the tooth and, if everything looks great, they’ll prepare the tooth. This involves removing a portion of the tooth to accommodate the dental crown.

Our caring team works hard to help you feel at ease during the procedure, but if you’re still experiencing some anxiety, we offer dental sedation options to further minimize discomfort and stress.

Once the tooth has been prepared, we’ll take some digital, 3D images of it. These images will serve as the blueprint for your dental crown.

At many other dental practices, the dentist will send images and impressions of the prepared tooth to an off-site lab. Sometimes, this lab is even out-of-state! It can take weeks for the lab to make and ship your restoration. That’s not the case at All Smiles!

Our CEREC milling device will use the digital images we took of your tooth to sculpt your custom restoration from a block of durable porcelain. This only takes a matter of minutes.

All in all, you can walk into our office with a damaged tooth and have it fully restored in as little as an hour!

What If I’m Missing Multiple Teeth?

You can still enjoy the convenience of same-day dental restorations if you’re missing a series of teeth! We can also use our CEREC milling device to craft dental bridges.

When you replace one or more teeth with a dental bridge, we’ll place dental crowns on the abutment teeth, or the healthy teeth on either side of your smile gap. Then, we’ll fill in the gap with artificial teeth that are securely anchored to those dental crowns!

Just as with same-day dental crowns, you’ll be able to leave our office with a beautifully restored smile in just one visit.

Are CEREC Restorations As Durable As Traditional Restorations?

When made by a properly trained dentist, dental restorations created in-office with the aid of computer-assisted dentistry can actually be better than conventional laboratory practices, according to a study published by the Journal of International Oral Health.

When it comes to highly skilled dentistry, you can trust the experts at All Smiles. Dr. Folden has been practicing for more than 30 years and continues to be committed to continuing education. This helps him stay abreast of the latest dental trends, techniques, and technology to deliver the highest quality care possible.

Dr. Westbrook joined All Smiles almost 10 years ago after graduating from the University of Texas Dental Branch with high academic honors, including being among the top six students in his graduating class!

You’ll feel confident in the care you receive from our team of dental professionals.
