Don’t Delay, Get Your Dental Crown In One Day

Same Day Smile 1 - Jacksonville, TX | All Smiles - Dr. Larry Folden

There are a lot of reasons that people get dental crowns.

You could have a broken or cracked tooth. You could have a large cavity or a tooth that has become weak after fillings have been replaced multiple times. You could have a discolored tooth or a misshapen tooth that stands out rather than blending in as part of your smile.

Whatever the reason, we want you to get your crown as soon as possible at All Smiles in Jacksonville, TX. It’s why we offer CEREC same-day dental crowns at our office.

To get one for yourself, call 903-625-9297 or contact us online.

The Old Way Of Getting Dental Crowns

If you need a dental crown, you will want your tooth repaired as soon as possible. For better or worse, that could mean making multiple dental appointments spread out over weeks at a dentist office that still does things the old way.

With any dental crown, the dentist will need to reshape the tooth. Whether you have a break, a crack, decay, or another issue, removing the outer portion of the tooth is necessary. This allows the dentist to remove the imperfection and to create an abutment from healthy parts your tooth.

This abutment is where your crown will be bonded to your tooth.

The old way of doing things is to order a dental crown from a lab. The lab may need weeks to create your permanent crown and ship it to the dentist office. Only then will you get your crown.

In the meantime, you would be stuck with a temporary crown, which can pose its own problems. Temporary crowns don’t look as nice as permanent crowns, and temporary crowns can come off.

When your permanent crown is bonded in place, your tooth will look, feel, and function like a natural tooth again. But wouldn’t you rather get there without the risks that come with a temporary crown?

The New Way: Same-Day Dental Crowns

At All Smiles, we have incorporated CEREC technology into our practice. CEREC is short for chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics.

This is a complete system for designing and creating a dental crown for you in just a few hours rather than a few weeks.

The process for getting a CEREC crown starts in the same way as any other dental crown. Your tooth is formed into an abutment. Then the technology comes into play.

Your teeth are scanned with 3D imaging equipment. This is used to design your dental crown. Then, our computer-guided in-office milling machine uses that design to make your crown while you wait.

When it’s ready, we can bond your permanent crown in place before you leave. You don’t have to worry about wearing a temporary crown, and you won’t have to make an extra trip just to have your crown placed in a few weeks.

Which would you prefer: to make one trip to our office or to make multiple trips to another dentist to get what amounts to the same service?

CEREC Can Do More Than Same-Day Crowns

While dental crowns are what CEREC is probably best known for, crowns are not the only thing we can create with our in-office milling machine.

For patients who are missing teeth, we can also build a dental bridge. Bridges are made by combining multiple crowns together. We can program our machine to create your bridge while you wait.

This may take a little longer since it is making multiple crowns at the same time rather than just one, but you can still get your dental bridge in one day at our Jacksonville, TX, dentist office.

What if you need something larger than a dental filling but not quite a full crown? We can make that for you, too. These are called inlays and onlays (depending on which part of your tooth needs to be replaced).

With whatever CEREC service you receive you can count on a few things. Your tooth restoration will look natural. Your restoration will be strong and last for years, and your restoration will save you time and trips to the dentist office.
